Essentra supports retail marketing innovation at the POPAI Awards 2016

Essentra is proud to have sponsored and attended the POPAI Awards 2016, which celebrate creativity, innovation and best practice in retail marketing. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Awards and the ceremony took place on the 4th October at the Lancaster London Hotel. 

As a gold sponsor of the event, Essentra sponsored three award categories including ‘Cosmetics, Beauty: Hair & Fragrance Temporary Display’, ‘Short Run, Non-FMCG Temporary Display’ and ‘Temporary Display of the Year’. The company showcased its range of speciality tapes and services for the Point of Purchase industry, including TwinStick®, RemoOne® and Duraco® at a branded and creative booth.  

As the largest celebration of excellence in the UK and Irish retail marketing industry, the Awards always prove to be an inspiring event for all involved by recognising outstanding achievements in shopper engagement and in-store Point of Purchase design. 

This year, a key focus was reflecting on how much the industry has evolved. We’ve seen an unprecedented amount of change including the establishment and growth of online shopping, advances in technology and a higher shopper expectation for promotions. These changes have all impacted the way we plan and implement retail marketing and demonstrated the continued importance of the sector in connecting with the shopper. This imaginative thinking and focus was reflected in the work of the Awards winners and nominees. Tiffany Overstreet, Global Category Director at Essentra said “Despite these dynamic changes in the market Point of Purchase displays still continue to be vital in driving sales through increasing visibility, clear communication and enhancing the overall value of the brand. The industry is evolving, it’s innovating more and working harder to connect the customer journey from online to instore.

The evening was a huge success and brought together the best in the industry to recognise, share success and stimulate valuable discussion on industry trends and challenges.
